The New Team

KUSAF held a successful election which saw new faces at the helm of its leadership. The election was conducted in a free and fair atmosphere through secret ballot voting at Kim Tae hall. The elections officer, Mr. David Lee exuded excellence as he guided the exercise stage by stage ensuring that things were done as per the letter. He began by reading the election by laws as a reminder before the exercise began. He proceeded to listing the offices to be filled where he guided members in proposing three nominees per position, a prerequisite for voting. Summer Retreat

The KUSAF summer retreat was one of its kind. The event brought together twenty one members who were full of energy, creativity and psyche for the day. Despite the fluctuating weather conditions, the optimism and excitement that was exuded by the team was a boost to the overall outcome of the day. The long a waited event marked a significant point in the history of KUSAF, as it was the first ever retreat for the group. Indeed, a pioneering event that would help shape the future trends of the group in matters of out of college activities, venturing and exploring the aesthetic configuration of fauna and flora of Korea as modelled by the great architect. Money,Wealth & Business:Biblical Perspective

A reflection on our countries and continent would discern some of the vices and affronts that have beset it. Among them is poverty and under development, more so, on the sub Saharan Africa. Such a reality would not only be reflected on any endeavour that seeks to propagate its agenda within the continent, but also slows the pace and projection of its impact. Meaning, any attempt geared towards fast tracking positive impact and improving any sphere of humanity must not gloss over the underlined issues.

The global position of Africa in economic and development fronts is tailing and pathetic. Poverty has continued to be a menace, a nasty replacement to the water crocodile, and a croc on drying land claiming millions, blurring vision, thwarting potential and leaving many hopeless. Continue reading

The Economic Decline in Africa

“One half of the African continent lives below the poverty line. In sub-Saharan Africa, per capita GDP is now less than it was in 1974, having declined over 11 percent.”

While the rest of the world’s economy grew at an annual rate of close to 2 percent from 1960 to 2002, growth performance in Africa has been dismal. From 1974 through the mid-1990s, growth was negative, reaching negative 1.5 percent in 1990-4. As a consequence, hundreds of millions of African citizens have become poor: one half of the African continent lives below the poverty line. Continue reading

Where Are we?

In outlining the goals and vision for first quarter2011, we did envisage the theme: Building capacity for kingdom leadership. We spelt three priorities; Foundations of true leadership, establishing social economic strategies and engaging African issues. In action points, under priority  area one,  foundations of true leadership, there were two topical issues to be engaged. The first was; developing personal vision and mission statement-goal setting.
